We are thrilled to announce the return of our annual creative writing competition open to all 6th class pupils! High Cross College invites entries to the High Cross College Creative Writing Competition 2025.

How to Enter

6th class pupils are welcome to submit one entry in one of the following three categories:

• A six-word short story (6 words maximum)
• A piece of descriptive writing (1 A4-page maximum)
• A poem (20 lines maximum)

The theme for this year’s competition is ‘Happiness is…’

Submission Guidelines

Please send your entries to the school to arrive by 3pm on 2nd October 2025 or as an email attachment to competitions@highcrosscollege.ie.

Entries must include the 6th class pupil’s full name, the name of their teacher, and contact details for their school.

The winners in each category will be announced at the High Cross College Open Evening on Thursday, 10th October 2025.
