Congratulations to Sarah Garret, Sarah Martyn, Niamh Treanor and Emily Mc Namara, who will be awarded with Highly Commended Certificates in the prestigious Poetry Ireland’s 21st National Poetry Competition. The awards ceremony is taking place in Cavan on Sunday next. The students, who are now in fifth year, took part in the competition while in transition year.

Poetry Ireland is the national organisation for poetry in Ireland, dedicated to developing, supporting and promoting poetry throughout Ireland. Since the competition began in 1992 the competition has been an important milestone in the careers of some of today’s leading poets.
