The Green Schools team were delighted to welcome biologist, environmental consultant, author, educator and television presenter Eanna ní Lamhna to raise the school’s first Green Flag.
Eanna who is regarded a one of Ireland’s best-known environmentalist, toured the school with some of the Green Schools team, and advised them on how they can continue to improve on their work. She talked to both the junior and senior students throughout the day about the importance of recycling, and the need to constantly strive towards lessening the amount of waste being sent to landfill.
After the flag was raised Eanna and the Green Schools team celebrated by having lunch together and the girls presented Eanna with a bouquet of flowers and a thank you card from the team.
The Green School team reported that after meeting and talking to Eanna, they are feeling much more encouraged and inspired to continue their work and achieve their goals.
