This inspirational piece of art the backdrop to our Leaving Certificate graduation mass, was designed by our Leaving Certificate art students and realised by our Transitions Year students Jade, Ruby, Stella, Cayce and Saidbh.

‘Our New Chapter’

It is a powerful piece of art, not only is it rich in colour but in symbolism also.
The Book is open as the students are turning to a new chapter in their lives. The Bookmark depicts this will not be a straight forward path.
The Music expresses that that which cannot be said, the unknown.
The Purple cloud billow into the city skyline that lies in the palm of a hand. Above this beautiful cityscape a lady swings free on an extended branch.
Into the Clouds we see hot air balloons giving us a sense of adventure. The earth as seen from the moon symbolises that there is no end to the possibilities that lie before us.
The Flowers delicate and blooming symbolise the beauty and growth of a new season in the book of our lives.
The Butterfly symbolises transformation as our students develop from children to young women.
The Dandelion clocks are used to make wishes symbolising hope for our futures.
This powerfully depicted piece of art sparks wonder into the majesty that is our new chapter in life.
