Our First, Second, Transition Years and Fifth Year students took part in our Language Day on Thursday 9th of February, with the aim of making Language learning fun!
Our Language Day kicked off with a table quiz, covering French and German language and culture, as well as general knowledge. There was fierce competition between the thirty teams that took part, sharing their wealth of knowledge on all things French and German. Team 2, a combination of First and
Second year students scored highest overall and were named ‘Junior Quiz Champions’. Transition Year students made up the team of ‘Senior Quiz Champions’.
Next up, was a number snake where students counted in sequence from 1 – 100 in the foreign language of their choice.
We finished the morning activities with a France v Germany table tennis tournament, which was won by German students, much to the chagrin of Miss Casey and Miss Forde (although Miss Heffernan was delighted!).
Both Junior French and Senior French students were enraptured by the humorous acting capabilities of the FTFS theatre group, who performed a different play for each group.
Overall, great fun was had by all and we even managed to ‘parle un peu de français et d’allemand’!
