Language Day 2018 was a resounding success at Presentation College, Currylea. Both students and teachers enjoyed the fun activities planned for the day.
All 1st, 2nd TY and 5th Year students gathered together in the gym for a 10 round table quiz which took in questions on general knowledge, numeracy, literacy and bien sûr in French and German.
The music round proved the most entertaining and the gym at The Pres was rocked by the dulcid tones of our fabulous girls!
Senior teams reigned supreme in the table quiz, with TYs claiming the Pres Language Day Quiz Winner’s title. Great fun was had by all and some even learned something new!
All 300+ students organised themselves into a chain of numbers and what followed was the tournament to end all tournaments….France -v- Germany relays.
It was a close fought battle but for the 2nd year in a row, la France a gagné!! Ms Casey, Ms Forde and Ms Lohan were delighted with the win and obviously commiserated with our lovely Frau Heffernan!
After break, Junior French students were intrigued by a French play filled with fun, intrigue and lots of laughs. Our fabulous volunteers did a wonderful job acting their little hearts out and all present had a great time.
After lunch, our Senior French students were entertained by the same French theater company who expertly put on a different play. They were also in the company of TY students from St. Jarlaths.
A fabulous day was had by all and on attend la Journée de Langues 2019 avec impatience!
