On Wednesday the 20th of May our whole school community gathered together to award, celebrate and acknowledge the wide variety of our student’s talents, abilities and contributions that individual students have made to the day to day running of our school.
The awards ceremony was opened by our Principal Ms Cosgrove, who welcomed everyone to the ceremony and explained the significance and importance of recognising the diversity of our student’s abilities and talents. Throughout the next few hours a myriad of trophies and awards were presented to the students for a wide variety of achievements, academic ability and involvement in the school activities.
Special awards were presented to players of the year in different sports, and the students of the year, who had been chosen by both the students and staff.
Winner of the Margaret Kelly Memorial Award for Student of the Year went to Ciara Donnellan. Other awards were presented to Sports Players of the Year, with Chloe Crowe being awarded Sports Person of the year.
Many students were awarded for their impeccable attendance record, and for others who had performed duties, above and beyond what was required of them, whilst their behaviour and ethos had demonstrated the spirit of Currylea. Such as Ciara Glynn, Winner of the Natalie Higgins “Spirit of Currylea” Memorial Award.
These awards acknowledge the wonderful accomplishments of the girls across the whole spectrum of areas both within the school and in the wider community.
Many thanks must be given to everyone involved for all their hard work and input in organizing the ceremony.
