On Friday a very talented musician named Matthew Berrill came into our music class to teach us about jazz music. He taught us loads of features of jazz music like improvisation, instruments used in jazz bands, walking bass lines and some rhythmic features.
He gave us our own instruments and we played “C Jam Blues.” by Duke Ellington.
He improvised on the clarinet and encouraged us to improvise too. We played together and called our band the “Friday Feelin”.
We really enjoyed Friday’s workshop and had a great time playing and learning about jazz music. Thank you Matthew!
