Transition Year & Senior history students hear holocaust survivor, Tomi Reichental speak.

On Wednesday morning, the Transition Year and senior history students were cordially invited to St Jarlath’s College to hear holocaust survivor, Tomi Reichental speak.

In 1944, nine year old Tomi was sent to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Unlike thousands of others he survived. Tomi recounted the daily brutality, starvation and dehumanisation of the inmates in the camp.

It was a privilege for the students to be reminded about the horrors of the holocaust, as seen through the eyes of a child survivor.
