Wild, Wet & Windy, Killary can’t dampen the Transition Year’s Spirits

As part of the Gaisce award, this year’s Transition Year students travelled to Killary Adventure center to complete one part of the four key challenge areas to achieve the award. This involved the students themselves planning and organising, a thirty kilometre hike in Connemara, and finally taking part in a challenging activity on the final day, the ‘Bog Challenge’.

In spite of the unfamiliar surroundings, sore feet, bad weather and frequently getting wet, the girls all reported that they all had a fantastic time. It was lovely to see them getting on so well and making new friends.  They really seemed to bond as a group and were so kind to each other, sharing bug spray, plasters, pringles…!!
