The four houses of High Cross College met collectively for the first time this week as 1st years got to meet their TY counterparts and compete for house points in highly contested quizzes and competitions.

There was huge excitement and just a little nerves as the 4th years gave the 1st years a rapturous and rousing welcome when they met to plot their strategies to win all 5 competitions. Each of the 4 houses—Connacht, Leinster, Munster, and Ulster—broke up into smaller teams to compete in art, engineering, textiles, sports, and general knowledge challenges that saw the TYs & 1st years work together to ensure their house came away victorious!

With Ulster in an early lead from individual year-group competitions held during induction week, they lifted the roof to celebrate their achievements. But will they hold the lead? Results will follow soon…
