Senior School Debates commence in Currylea
Three of last years Leaving Certificate students Irene Santing, Emma Martyn and Lisa Kelly returned to Presentation College Currylea to adjudicate the Fifth Year Debating competition. The competition commenced with the topic “No Social Media For Under 15’s”. The winners were Niamh Traynor, Megan Power and Liza O’Regan.
Transition Year Students help create Western Alzheimer’s Fundraising Calendar
Transition Years have just taken a delivery of 140 calendars that they will sell to raise money for the Western Alzheimer’s Association. These calendars were produced by Yann Studios using photographs taken by secondary school students in the Galway area. Two of the photos are from Presentation College Transition Year students. l

The Concern Debates commence in Currylea
Debating the topic “Young people in Ireland are building a better world” the Transition Year students participated in the first round of the Concern Debates against St. Lois Community School Kiltimagh. By taking part, students learn the valuable skills of research and debating. The Concern Debates have been running since 1984.
Christmas starts in Currylea
The first Christmas decorations appear in Presentation College, Currylea. Our Transition year students have designed and made these wonderful choir singers, that were displayed today, for all to view.

Today Presentation Day November 21st was celebrated in Currylea. Retired Presentation Sisters joined the staff at break time to enjoy tea, coffee and a specially made cake to mark the occasion. Sr. Nora accepted a bouquet of flowers and a gift from the staff.
