Well done to our TY students Sasha Hogan, Kate Smith and Agata Szajda have been awarded the overall competition 1st prize in the The School of Education at NUI Galway Design Competition.
The girls worked with the guidance of Mrs O’Hora on the theme ‘Why making Galway plastic free matters to you’ the competition called for students to design an art piece that combined their creativity, design thinking and environmental awareness while highlighting the significance of the theme.
The design was to build awareness of plastic usage in our world or offer design solutions to this global issue.
The girls are now invited into the MakerSpace in NUI Galway to participate in an exciting design session, with our MakerSpace lead designer, Paula Walsh. The MakerSpace is a creative workshop where students can design and create innovative ideas.
The girls will be presented with your prize by the Mayor of the City of Galway at the opening ceremony of the International Society of Design & Development Education 2018 in NUI Galway.
