Green Schools Water Forum in Athlone

all-the-schools-at-the-forumGreen Schools Committee members’ Keira White, Jadzia Murphy, Clara Muller and Caoimhe Walsh Kelly attended a special free secondary school Green Schools Water Forum in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone, Co. Westmeath on Wednesday, the 19th of October. Guest speakers included Mr Padraig Joyce, an Engineer from Irish Water. He spoke about the many issues and possible solutions to improve our water services infrastructure across Ireland.

Speakers from An Taisce Green-School’s, along with a model school who achieved their Water themed green flag, outlined how we could fulfil the criteria and achieve our own Water themed green flag for Presentation College, Currylea.

The girls found the workshop very helpful and informative, as we strive to achieve our third Green-School’s flag on the theme of Water. Well done Girls for such a fantastic team effort!
