Junk Kouture Final – Here We Come!

High Cross College is proud to announce a second appearance at the Junk Kouture finals. This is the school’s second time in the National Finals of the Junk Kouture competition since opening in 2023!

Our “Golden Swan” creation blew the judges away. Maeve Murphy, Sahra Murphy, Aishling Bowens, and Anna Cooley designed it. It is the only design from Co. Galway to make it to the national finals. The piece was created using polyethylene sheets. These sheets are used on the packaging of electronics. The girls are excited and nervous for their appearance in the finals in May.

A second group of Transition Year students excelled. They reached the National Semi-Final of Junk Kouture recently in the Helix in Dublin. “Coral Caution” is from the design team. The team consists of Ellie Sheridan, India Cunniffe, Clodagh Fallon, and Kaya Donnellan. They dazzled at the event. The team should be really proud of their achievement in making it to this stage.

A fashion show will showcase all 16 designs. These designs were entered into the competition. It will be held on Thursday, March 27th. It will be in the North Campus. The school looks forward to welcoming friends and families. They will welcome the students who took part in this year’s competition. The school recognises their hard work and effort in such a competitive event.
