Language Day 2019 was yet another success at The Pres and a fabulous opportunity for our Junior and Senior students to dust off their French, German and general knowledge skills.

The day kicked off with a 10 round table quiz with a range of French, German and general knowledge questions, coupled with dingbats and a music round.

The rivalry between the teams was palpable and nobody was willing to speak above a whisper for fear another team would ‘steal’ their answer! After 10 gruelling rounds,  the team aptly named Amy3 (Amy cubed) rang victorious.

Next up was a test of agility, speed and power dressing with the 4 fastest Senior and Junior French and German students going head-to-head to win the Language Day title. It was France v Germany and Ms Casey was backing a French win for the 3rd year in a row. Alas, it was not meant to be and although the Frenchies did Ms Casey proud,  Germany reigned supreme…this year!

German students were entertained by a German movie in the afternoon. While, our Junior French students were entertained by ftfs French Theatre group who acted their hearts out and whose french accents rang out through the halls of The Pres today!

Our Senior French students were joined by TY students from St Jarladth’s and enjoyed and participated in a play about alternative career paths (1 of them was robbing a bank, here’s hoping they missed that bit!!).

All in all, tout le monde s’est très bien amusé!
