“Two weeks ago, VERY EARLY in the morning, fifty-six senior student and six staff headed off to Paris for this year’s school tour. With much excitement, not to mention anxiety about the weight of the luggage (hand luggage of 10kg is very challenging for the fashion conscious teenage girl!) we checked in. All went smoothly and around lunchtime we met our coach driver, Johan, who was to become a very important person in the next five days, making sure we never got lost, getting us in and out of places quickly and providing music and soft drinks on his state-of-the-art coach.
Over the next few days we ‘did’ Paris very thoroughly. We climbed the Eiffel Tower, we saw the Mona Lisa, we cruised down the Seine, some of us very nearly got scammed on the steps of Sacre Coeur and we took selfies in the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles. And then of course there was Disneyland!! Despite the rain a great day was had by all.
We had a very busy and very tiring five days, but we all got a real taste of Paris, whetting a lot of appetites for a return visit, but perhaps not to Flunch!
