Transition Year Students enjoyed their UNICEF Workshop

Well done to the Transition Year Students who reported that they thoroughly enjoyed their workshop with Vivienne Parry from UNICEF Ireland who came to do a Development Education Workshop with the students.
Vivienne’s workshop was based upon the UNICEF’s “It’s About Us” programme and she concentrated upon  hearing the students’ feedback on their visions and priorities for creating a new set of Sustainable Development goals.  The outcomes of which will define their future world for the next 30 years and beyond.
The new Sustainable Development Goals will be voted on at the next United Nations General Assembly Meeting, in September. UNICEF plan to hold a Youth Summit, to give participating students the opportunity to give their feedback and recommendations to the Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore before he attends the UN General Assembly.
The students were very interested and enthusiastic  about the workshops and hope their opinions and inputs were useful to Vivienne and UNICEF Ireland.
