
Congratulations to our Transition Year students and their Art teacher Joanne O’Hora, as they scooped two All-Ireland titles in the prestigious Junk Kouture competition. The entire school are very proud of you all, it’s a great achievement!

This year the school of fashion students from entered nine designs into the largest competition in Ireland with 4000 entries. Two of the designs made it through to the semi-final, and these designs made it through to the All-Ireland final in the 3Arena.
The two designs were called Gach Realta and Digital DownLoad.
The students involved in the designs were:
Digital Download : Model: Ciara O’Callaghan, Dervla Brogan, Emma Barry and Eimear Fahy
Gach Realta: Model: Aoife Coen, Laura McTigue, Shauna McNamara, Laura O’Dea and Laura Daly
Both teams were triumphant, and took home awards for best in category BOI Techno wearable and winning the JACC sports equipment prize.
The girls received a glass trophy, iPads and a chance to design their own jerseys with the makers of Umbro and Converse.


Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture is a national contest, which encourages young designers in second level education to create striking couture designs and impressive works of wearable art from everyday junk that would normally find its way into the bin.
The Judges on the night were Louis Walsh, Pippa O’Connor, Tracey Fahy, Jane Leavey and Stephen Mc Loughlin.
