Appointment of Ms. Neasa Cosgrove as Principal

Neasa Cosgrove began her educational career in La Sainte Union, Banagher in 1998 as a French, German and Irish teacher. Following that she taught in St. Gerald’s College, Castlebar for 8 years before accepting her first senior management position in Presentation College Currylea where she was appointed Deputy Principal. Over the next three years, Ms. Cosgrove served as Deputy Principal alongside Tony Lillis and later Maree O Rourke. In 2011, Ms. Cosgrove was appointed as Principal of Presentation College Currylea. This year marks her twelfth year in this position.

Her educational experiences have afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with many people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and well-being. Her educational philosophy is based on her uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, modern facilities, strong leadership, a committed and focused staff, an encouraging school community, and a supportive family. All of which has been achieved in Presentation College.

Ms Cosgrove is humbled and privileged to be appointed as the first Principal of High Cross College, a new CEIST school which will continue the wonderful traditions of Mercy Tuam and Presentation College Tuam. She is delighted that the school will now offer boys the same excellent school experience that has been afforded to the girls of Tuam and its surrounding areas for many years. High Cross College will be a caring and supportive school which will encourage all students to reach their potential and go beyond.

High Cross College will maintain and build on the excellent reputations, academic achievement and communities of care and support that have always been associated with Mercy Tuam and Presentation College Currylea.

The Interim Board of Management welcomes Ms. Cosgrove and wishes her every success in her role as Principal.
