Music Council led the music for our Opening Year Mass
Well done to our recently formed Music Council who led the music for our Opening Year Mass. Along with their musical talents, the students also demonstrated their ability to work together in preparing the music for our mass. Well done girls – it sounded beautiful!

Congratulations again to our Transition Years
The girls won the prestigious Galway’s Civic Trusts 10th Annual competition: Capturing Galway’s Heritage with their project on the topic ‘Our Local Musical Heritage’ The student’s project involved researching, interviewing music legend Seán Keane who also recorded a rendition of the song ‘Isle of Hope’ with the girls.
Transition Years enjoyed visiting local primary schools giving music masterclasses .
Transition Year students enjoyed visiting some of our local primary schools recently giving a music masterclass. Our students had a great time giving 5th and 6th class students an introduction to the violin, cello, harp, tin whistle, guitar, keyboard and ukulele. We look forward to visiting more schools later in the year.

On Friday a very talented musician named Matthew Berrill came into our music class to teach us about jazz music. He taught us loads of features of jazz music like improvisation, instruments used in jazz bands, walking bass lines and some rhythmic features.
